ALONG CAME LUCY
(GER: Dann kam Lucy) (Alternate title: Feuer und Wasser – engl. Fire and Water) Saskia (Julia Jäger) is a horse breeder, who is appointed guardian of 16 year-old Lucy (Olga von Luckwald) after the sudden death of Lucy’s mother and Saskia’s best friend. When she arrives on the farm, worlds collide – Saskia, horse lover, modest, methodical, organized. Lucy rude and crude, hailing from London and not cut out for life in the countryside. Lucy looks to bolt from the monotonous landscape ASAP, ideally to her father, whom she has never met. Child services eventually locates her father Alex (Heio von Stetten) in Amsterdam, who, in Lucy’s eyes, is infinitely cooler than Saskia. Not so fast. Alex and his bachelor life is completely unprepared for and unhappy about Lucy moving in – and he lets her know it. Deeply disappointed, Lucy runs off. As they search for the girl together, Alex and Saskia grow close. |
